Early release version for Android now available
Android users are now able to install an early release version of Appcompanist. You can install the early release version directly from the Google Play Store
The free early release version includes access to all 550+ Vocal Exercises and 50 Sample Songs chosen by NATS from their list of most auditioned repertoire (all found in Playlists). The purpose of this prerelease version is to get something into the hands of teachers and singers who have been forced to transition to online lessons, distance learning, and practice in isolation. As this is a prerelease version, you may experience some instability and crashing, but our testing has found it to work well enough to be a help at this time. We are working hard to make the subscription version that will allow unlimited access to the full library available as soon as possible, and would love it if you find anything strange, that you let us know so we can work any fixes it into our ongoing development.

Pre-Release Version 6 has an improved piano sound
Pre-Release Version 6 was live as of 4/1/2020 and is the current version on the Google Play store. This version has a much-improved piano sound (clearer and more dynamic.) If you've already installed Appcompanist on your Android phone and haven't updated we highly recommend you do. In fact you should always update if possible because we are constantly improving this pre-release version.
Android 8 is now supported
During our early testing we saw some issues that only occurred on Android version 8. We have tried to solve as many as we can, but there still may be some instability. We considered requiring version 9 and above, but there are a lot of users with phones running version 8 that cannot upgrade, so we decided to allow Appcompanist to run on those devices, with the encouragement that if you can upgrade to version 9 or 10, the app will likely run much better. If you do experience problems running on version 8, please email us at the address above and note that you are reporting a version 8 issue. Thank You.
